Father/Son XX3's

This goes without need for explanation (the kicks that is) but... Adon has grown into his size 7 shoes that I bought a while back and stashed away thinking he'd at least be 2 before he could wear them... yeah, he's got Maier sized feet!  At not even 17 mos. Ash found that they fit already.

Sometimes you just HAVE to get out of Warren... and I was craving Taco Bell so we headed north to Lakewood, NY.  We decided to bust out our Father/Son Air-Jordan XX3's and rock the Lakewood Mall afterward to visit Rich, the manager at FinishLine!  He instantly remembered selling me Adon's lil' J.'s months and months ago when they found their way to the clearance rack.  Rich has a 1 yr. old little girl so we both have the same problem hooking up our tikes with some tight kicks!

Adon actually has the color that I originally wanted but they sold out way too fast in adult sizes (6 days from release) so it was awesome to find em' in Adon's size.  Ash bought me mine as a combined anniversary/birthday gift last year.  The XX3 is the last numbered Air-Jordan that will ever be made.  It is in the top-5 all time collected J.'s among most collectors.

We had a great day walking around together and having those who notice... notice!  Yeah, I'm typically one of those that if you catch me in the mall... I will be looking down most of the time trying to see the shine on the cats cruising FinishLine and FootLocker.  It's my thing!  Ash on the other hand just let us do our thing while she did her thing... bargain shopping.  She scored some nice dress pants and a top to match for a really good price (sorry, no pictures)!

The week that was:  Adon started things off rough last Sunday (although technically that qualifies as last week...) by eagerly running out onto the porch when Ash let the dogs out.  He then eagerly wiped out and bounced his moosh off the porch (trauma pictured).  The result was a bit of Angelina Jolie meets Octomom!  It healed up by Thursday.

It was nice to return to playing the drums this week as it has been almost a month since I last played in church (I've been filling in running our sound board while our sound dude was on a short-term missions trip).  Working out 2 new songs was refreshing.  One of them is actually a hymn that has been re-worked, "Fill Me Now", and the other is called "Sing to the King" that has a great bass line!

Nothing else too exciting until the weekend...

The Weekend that was:  VIDEO [click for link to all videos] "Kitchen Chaos" in the previous post captures the excitement of Saturday morning!  Ash had to work so it was a part-time Dudeday.  We surprised mommy by showing up with McDonalds for lunch and then spent the last 1.5 hours of her shift with her helping at the desk and chasing the cats around!

Sunday was great!  Playing again gave me such a fresh filling of purpose musically.  Now that I've been playing drums most of my life it can feel more like my duty than my desire sometimes.  The 3 weeks off was too much but sure did center me in offering drumming to the glory of God!  In Breakaway group I'm teaching through an adaptation of the Johari Window.  I will post that when it becomes more fully developed.  It's great if you're a sociology or psychology geek!

Sunday afternoon was spent with Mom & Pops H.!  Sue brought some yummy stuffed shells for dinner and we just spent a very relaxing afternoon together.  Sunday night was a childrens talent showcase and ice cream social at church.   Then it was back home to watch the CAVS eek out a win against the Hawks!

Our friends Mike & Andrea let us talk them into stopping by IKEA for us on their way home from Pittsburgh.  We got 2 new chairs (pictured) and a footstool for the family room to add some much needed seating when people come over.  Time to get rid of the ratty ol' recliner... Cooper will miss that the most!

Recommendation of the week:  Quaker QUAKES (Cheddar Cheese pictured)  Simply Amazing and only 70 calories per serving!
