A Slobernocker, defensive Smashmouth BIG 10 Football game... maybe one of the best in recent history. Let me say, as I do to many of the locals here, "I don't hate Penn. State... as a Buckeye... I hate Michigan!" OSU had no chance of a Nat'l Championship even with the win... and now we have a chance of watching Joe-Pa and the Nittany Lions go on to represent the BIG 10 against (likely) some pretty boys from the south! Sure, it may have knocked us out of some pretty cool BCS match-up but who wouldn't be excited if we play a team like Missouri in a bowl game! Seriously sweet game if you ask me! We've held the BIG 10 hostage for years now... a year off isn't so bad! Did you get that? Only one year. Next year Pryor will be more of an athletic freak than he is now and Tressell knows how to mold young-guns into Heisman winners and National Champion contenders (Troy Smith)! Oh yeah, I bleed Buckeye... but I'm behind Penn. State for the rest of this BCS (aka ~ one game in January) season! Great game to all... just wait till next year!

Pumpkin Patch
Saturday 10/18/2008 found us in search of the GREAT PUMPKIN... for carving! Ashley, Adon, and J. teamed with Charity, Conlan & Case Seymour in this glorious misadventure!

Conlan was pretty hard to track down during the pumpkin hunt... he was having way too much fun wandering the field tossing unsuspecting little pumpkins as far as he could! I did manage to get him to pose for one picture!
As fascinated as Case appears with the tractor (as pictured below), Charity soon realized... it was really a good time to be doing some "self-fertilization" of his own!
Papa Chris got home from work in time to display his seasoned fatherhood experience by outcarving newcomer J.! What is unseen is the strategy Conlan & Case displayed by scooping all of Chris's pumpkin guts... into J.'s pumpkin!

Happy Birthday Dad!
Honestly, it's a pretty sweet largemouth bass... and I caught it April 2007 but that's not what this post is about. A while back I preached a message to our graduating Senior class and told them that they need to print their pictures. How most of the time the picture is capturing a "something" (event, moment in time)... but the pictures that we cherish are actually about the people in them. In todays digital age it's just too risky to go without having REAL copies of these cherished people. So, when I think of fishing I think of my dad. I always will... he taught me how to fish, how to appreciate and respect God's creation... and how to eat it! My favorite pictures of me and a fish... also include my dad! Thanks dad... I can't wait to go fishing with you and Adon... and take some pictures! Happy Birthday!
